Before production began we thought we were filming a party scene, but having thought about it during the first day of filming we decided that it would be more beneficial to us if a party scene was not included.

Party Scene Idea - Audience Opinion

Because of the feedback we recieved about the party scene idea, as a group, we decided to make it our music video aim to create an ambiance of a party instead to really highlight the fun, energetic and vibrant lives of the youth (which is one of the conventions of the pop genre).

Lyric Analysing Process

As part of the pre-production process and planning for our music video, here is our group extracting the lyrics from the song and analysing it to trigger ideas and scenes which we could visualise to make our music coordinate with the visuals. 

(One of the main features of Goodwin's theory.)

Our music video would include dancing, movement, jumping, running. 

To accentuate the excitement and happiness of the youth.

The vibe we want to achieve on our music video would definitely be a positive ambiance. We want our audience to feel like how our cast would feel in the video.

"It's a party, let's party the world"

We want our video to resemble the ambiance of a party; to show the audience the fun, vibrant vibe of the pop genre.  

"Tonight we will light up the sky"

We can explore this through the use of mise-en-scene i.e. props, location, lighting...

Whilst filming Budget Britney we learnt as a group what will be required as a group when it comes to filming our own music video.


We learnt things such as:

• Continuously filming the whole song all the way through several times so we were able to pick and choose from selected clips to edit our video together.

• When Filming we played the track in the background and the music we put on as a backing track for our artist to lip sync, had 3 beeps at the  beginning which helped us to lip sync.

After pitching my favourite song choice to my group and deciding to use her, I had to find a way to contact her. At first I thought it would be easy because she is an unsigned artist, but I was proved wrong when I had to do more research into what platforms she used. I first found Ada Satka on soundcloud, however she did not have any contact info and all we knew was that she lived in LA. 

I then found Ada on Instagram and asked if I could talk to her via email, but I did not get a response. It was from this that I knew I would have to search for her on facebook , which is where i got the permission to use the song because obviously Facebook is Ada's most active social networking site.
