Digipak Drafts
Digipak Ideas
To create these digipak ideas i used Photoshop to edit the photos and add text to them.
Front Covers

Back Cover
Final Magazine Advert
Included in our design:
- Artist photographs
- Artist name: Ada Satka
- Album name: Light Up The Sky
- Photo of digipak/album cover
- Songs featured in the album
- Production company: NW3 Records
To create this, it was essential for me to research digipaks and magazine adverts of real artists similar to our music genre...
Such as...
Included in this magazine advert:
- Artist photograph
- Artist's name: Rihanna
- Album name: Loud
- 'Album out now'
- Songs featured in the album
- Picture of digipak/album cover
Using these magazine adverts as a guide to construct our own ensured that ours would conform to the conventional appearance of the pop genre.
From research I found that the conventional visual design of magazine adverts of music artists are generally within this format...
- Portrait
- Artist name - most bold & eye-catching
- Album name
- Information/album content (i.e. featured songs)
- Photo of artist his/herself
- production details (i.e. production logo)

Example used : Lana Del Rey - Born To Die
However, in our design, we chose to have our magazine advert to be at a landscape angle. Although this may not be a conventional design for most adverts, we found that in our research, there were artists (very similar to ours/our genre) that used a landscape design. Therefore, we also used these to help construct our composition of the advert...

Final Digipak - Back Cover

FONT AND DESIGN
Keeping the fonts and colours of the text the same for the entire digipak was important to make our digipak look professional whilst still conforming to the genre of our music (pop). Again we researched real pop album back covers to guide us with our design.
IMAGE CHOICE
In most of our digipak photos, our location shots and any photos without the 'artist' is edited to the similar filter where the image is grained. We wanted to highlight the idea of 'light up the sky' using this, by blurring and graining the image, the images of the lights became more glowy and vibrant as they become more unfocused.
Also, in contrast to this, we wanted our text to stand out from the photograph so that it would be easily read.

Audience Feedback/Interview
Here we filmed two groups of our target audience react to our music video. It was interesting to hear their comments and criticism to what we had created when we asked them a few questions after they watched the final cut.

Audience Feedback/Interview
Here we recorded the reaction of our teacher to our final cut of our music video to gain positive
and negative feedback to see if there was anything to add or change.

Album/Single advert for Ada Satka digipak Genice-Marie John-Lewis
We decided to make an advert to promote our digipak as well as the music video , using iMovie. We used some official adverts to draw inspiration from. such as Olly Murs' "Right Place Right time" album and Ellie Gouldings "Bright Lights" album.

Light Up The Sky - Teaser Trailer
Here, I used iMovie to create a short teaser trailer where I compiled our visual footage to give a taste of the genre, the ambiance and also to grab audience interest. It is a short video to build up to the official trailer and I showed this by using very short cuts of our clips. Also by not including our official song, it intrigues the audience into watching the official music video as well as listening to the song along with it.
Audience Feedback To Final Cut
Target Audience Feedback
This is a group of our target audience reacting to our music video and answering questions. We did this because we needed to see how our target audience would react to a music video thats aimed at them. By asking them questions we were able to identify what they enjoyed about the video and what they thought needed improving to make it more satisfying for our target audience.
Cast and crew
I made a video introducing those who were involved in the production of our music video.
Location -Genice-Marie John-Lewis
I used the youtube annotation tool to describe our locations and why we chose them.

Costume -Genice-Marie John-Lewis
Ideally we would of have liked our protagonist to be dressed like this...
But due to weather conditions, we had to think of realistic costume ideas that would still be appropriate and fit our theme and song. Although the weather made us change our costume ideas, this did not ruin our narrative what we were trying to achieve, which was a fun and chilled atmosphere, which can be seen in our final product.
